My Wishlist: Jewellery

Tribal Rings - Topshop
Crocodile Strap Watch - Urban Outfitters
Nyx Moonstone Necklace - Shop Dixi
Open Hoop Earrings - ASOS

This is my wish list of jewellery I'd like to own. I haven't had any new jewellery in a while and I rarely buy it myself so this month I'm thinking of treating myself to something new.

With jewellery I like to keep it quite simple as it means it can be worn in various ways and even layered with other pieces.

Crop Top and Shirt

Crop Top - Topshop
White Shirt - Primark
Gold Chain - H&M

I bought this white crop top from Topshop last week and right away I knew I wanted to find a way of styling it for day time wear. I like my clothes to be multi-functional as only then can I feel like I got value for money.

I was inspired to wear my crop top over my shirt from seeing cropped jumpers being worn in a similar way. I love the effect this layering has. It adds texture, isn't too heavy and makes this basic white button up like a whole new shirt. I added the gold chain because I think gold and white make for a beautiful combination.

Let me know what you think of this outfit today? Also how do you wear your crop tops during the day? Make sure to comment below or even Tweet me!

Platform Shoes

Shoes - Topshop

I have been obsessed with these shoes ever since I saw them online. I'm not yet able to wear high heels meaning flat forms and wedges are really the only answer for me when I want to look a bit dressier. These shoes have been worn to job interviews, nights out and dinner dates. They can make any outfit look instantly dressier even if that outfit is jeans and a plain t-shirt.

As well as being so multi-functional these shoes are actually quite comfy. Because they're a flat form your foot isn't positioned in that awkward tilted angle all night and the straps round the ankle help to keep them in place.

White T-Shirts

T-Shirt - American Apparel
Leather Jacket - Topshop
Jeans - All Saints

White, boyish t-shirts are great because they're easy to wear and they look really effortless. I bought this one from American Apparel during my trip to New York a few years ago. For me styling a basic white t-shirt requires a good jacket and a pair of jeans for that model off-duty inspired look; the sort of thing you see Cara Delevingne strolling around in.

New Hair Products

I've been trying out some new hair products recently. The problem with my hair is that a lot of recommended regimes are extremely time intensive which doesn't really fit it in with all the other 100s of things I have to do. Having these three products is great because they do three very different things to get really nice results.

The Aussie leave in conditioner helps to keep my hair moisturised as well as defining my curls.
The Argan Oil then locks in this moisture as well as adding a healthy shine to my hair.
Finally the freeze ease touch up cream does what is says, it reduces frizz as well as holding my hair in place pretty much all day.

White Fluffy Jumper

Jumper - Topshop

I love a good piece of fluffy knitwear! I just find them to be really comfortable and effortless to style. On a chilly day I can chuck on a warm jumper like this one from topshop with my black skinny jeans and it's perfect. Equally as we enter S/S (fashion wise not necessarily weather wise in the UK) this fluffy white jumper can be paired with my mint jeans for a more springtime, pastel look.

How I Style: Pastels

Pastels is going to big once again for summer this year. Pastels is something I've never been very good at. The pale colours don't really suit my complexion and I often find it a bit too girly. Nevertheless I've seen some really good pieces this year which I think fit my style a bit more.

1.  Pale Blue Crop Top - Zara
2. Pink Oragami Dress - ASOS
3. Mint Jumper -  Monki
4. Pink Blazer - Boohoo

For me the key to styling pastel pieces is to contrast them with black or white. I just think this helps to make the colour of the pastel item really stand out rather than when you wear head to toe pastel. Like I said I don't like the girly look often associated with pastel clothes so I would definitely try and toughen them up by wearing maybe leather or a pair of more mannish shoes.

I think I am going to try and experiment with pastels this season. Let me know what you think? Will you be wearing pastel colours this season and if so then how will you be wearing them?
